Closed Bus Tunnel = Faster Travel Downtown?

Apparently so.

According to Metro, travel times have actually improved through the downtown core - which is surprising when you consider that one-fifth of the main North-South corridor is closed to general traffic during peak hours.  It's amazing what $16 million dollars in mitigation and street improvements can do. Just imagine what a bit more could accomplish.

Hat tip to Jon Stahl over at Evergreen Politics.
