Not Another Elevated Viaduct Campaign Kicks into Gear
An email from the Not Another Elevated Viaduct campaign:
Stop another bigger, uglier, and noisier vaduct from being built--the time is now!Measure 2 on Seattle's March 13 special election ballot presents a disastrously flawed option for replacing the Alaskan Way Viaduct. Its new elevated viaduct option would be:
-Bigger--at least 50% larger than the current one
-Noisier--louder traffic noise on our waterfront
-Uglier--50% more cement and shadowsThere's no hope of building a better viaduct. Because of earthquae and other safety requirements, a new elevated highway will be much bigger and much wider than the existing viaduct--at least fifty percent wider with shoulders and walls that will even take away the stunning view enjoyed by motorists.
The March 13th special election is quickly approaching and we need to send the message, Seattle says, "Not Another Elevated Viaduct!"
We have to act now, here's how you can help:

I just got an automated phone call from the "not another elevated viaduct" campaign. If their goal is to get people to associate their cause with the most annoying, obnoxious form of promotion, they've succeeded. Maybe they are also using e-mail spam, but I have a pretty good filter that blocks most of that. Printed fliers that become litter blowing around and gunking up the gutters would be another effective way to annoy people, if they're looking for ideas.
