In the coming weeks, Seattle voters will participate in an advisory vote on the future of the Viaduct. What's on the ballot? How did the advisory vote come about? Get informed on the background and information on ballot choices at our February 28 YPN: Viaduct Advisory Vote, featuring Tim Ceis & Bob Powers at the One Union Square Boardroom.

Young professionals - this is your chance to learn what's on the ballot, to understand how the advisory vote came about, and discuss the implications of the March 13 vote.

Tim Ceis, Deputy Mayor for the City of Seattle, is responsible for all policy and operational issues for the mayor. Tim is the former Chief of Staff to King County Executive Ron Sims. He also served as the Director of the King County Endangered Species Act Policy Office, Senior Executive Policy Coordinator for Governor Gary Locke and Deputy Director of Budget and Strategic Planning for King County Executive Gary Locke.

Robert (Bob) Powers is currently director of Major Projects at the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT). He has been involved in many aspects of civil engineering design and construction engineering, and is a Certified Bridge Inspector in Washington and Oregon. Mr. Powers was previously a Division Chief of Transportation in the Engineering and Construction Division (TEC) for the Baltimore DOT, and has been involved in projects at the San Francisco International Airport and Golden Gate Bridge. He holds a Bachelor and a MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
